Hello! I’m Lina

HOW IT ALL STARTED

I discovered tatreez as a Palestinian Panamanian in the diaspora and fell head over heels in 2019. It did not take long for me to tackle my very own handmade embroidered Palestinian thobe from scratch and from it, created Lina’s Thobe as a way to document my journey.

At first, Lina’s Thobe was meant to connect me to my Palestinian roots and strengthen my identity as a hyphenated Palestinian in the diaspora. During that journey, however, I rediscovered a tradition seemingly lost in a history of occupation, ethnic cleansing, and the urgency of survival: Designing and constructing a thobe is meant to tell the story of the one that wears it.

I help connect my fellow Palestinian in the diaspora to their heritage and Palestinian allies to this incredibly magical art form of ours.

Because when you tap into tatreez, you tap into Palestine.

The best part? You don’t need ANYTHING but your own, unique self to get started.
